Here is something that is being used to be a plug for emergency comms. Even though it mentions ham radio, GMRS is also included in the NABR team. Feel free to past this in if you choose

I must apologize for not being to active this week… NABR had a hr plus meeting with the county on Thursday which didnt allow me to check-in on the net…

There was a lot of talk about how NABR and associates will/could fit into an emergency event that could happen in the future. For those of us with NABR, positions, locations were explained as were objective needed for such incident that was in the scenario presented. There was a lot of talk about how NABR and associates will/could fit into an emergency event that could happen in the future. For those of us with NABR, positions, locations were explained as were objective needed for such incident that was in the scenario presented. As the president of NABR, one of my jobs is to setup exercises and scenarios that advance the training for a time of need. I will be setting up another exercise in the near future. The coming exercise will be solely radio communications, no internet, no phone service, the only form of communication is radio… There are a lot of holes and pockets in the area that cell phone service isn’t possible… The reason for such an exercise is to test equipment and find shortcomings in our communications setup… As always and with any of our exercises, the most important thing is to learn, and to have fun doing it. After the exercise we have what is called a hot wash, basically a debriefing, and to go over any strengths and weaknesses we may have as a team.

Anyone can be a part of these exercises. Because of the way official channels work in event, not if but when NABR is needed, any volunteers will have to be under the guidance and instruction of NABR. This is something we can’t get away from. The reason for that is because of requirements that are necessary on the local all the way up to the federal level that allow us to be part of an incident.

Anyone who is interested in learning more about anything that we have coming up, feel free to contact me at
    [email protected]

Thanks for reading longer post all the way thru

NABR the Northern Arizona Backup Response Team is doing an exercise in the near future (within a few short weeks) the object of the exercise is to relay messages to the next person on your contact list… The NABR team would like to have some GMRS operators in the exercise as well. We would like to extend the offer for everyone to participate in this.

There is no set time or day, that is what still needs to be figured out. The day and time will be determined by how many people are involved. There is both an up side and down side to what has already been designed for the exercise. The up...

There is no set time or day, that is what still needs to be figured out. The day and time will be determined by how many people are involved. There is both an up side and down side to what has already been designed for the exercise. The up side is that being exclusively GMRS, and the down side is 2m is also involved. Right now there are 6 people on the list with room for more. This would be an excellent opportunity for both, the Kingman GMRS crowd and NABR to come together as one unit so we can learn together what may happen in a future emergency. If you don't want to participate in the exercise, then maybe listen in on what we’re doing. Questions can be asked after the exercise, not during it please.

You can get a hold of me at [email protected], please put exercise in the subject so it doesn’t end up in the trash. Below is a copy of the exercise format and protocol, as well as the frequencies as they stand right now. This is a preparedness exercise. We have been put on alert 4 times this year so far, so we all need to be ready.
    Thank you

    Hello Everyone,

I delivered our Raffle donation to Marcia Joslin, the President of Kingman Cares today. She is a wonderful person with a loving heart and her organization does a fantastic job supporting those in need in our community. I was humbled learning all that they do.

It's because of you that we can support other organizations in our community.

Thank you all and have a Very Merry Christmas!

Hi all, I use a 50 watt mobile radio and an 11 dbi gain yagi antenna to talk on the repeater from Hyde Park. It's past peach Springs on route 66. 77 miles from Kingman. Works really well. We are trying to get our neighborhood on gmrs up here. Got a few people already. Pic is my yagi pointed towards Kingman this evening.
