Hi MARC,
I'm reaching out to our dedicated HAMS, FRS, and GMRS radio operators for an exciting opportunity to support the upcoming Kingman First Friday Downtown Events!
We're looking for volunteers to act as our "Eyes and Ears" and assist with barricade control during these popular community gatherings. Your reliable communication and presence will be invaluable in ensuring the safety and smooth flow of the events for attendees and participants alike.
What we need from you:
Eyes and Ears: Be our eyes on the ground, observing the crowds and reporting any unusual activity or potential issues to event organizers.
Barricade Control: Assist in maintaining barricade integrity, guiding pedestrian and vehicular traffic as directed, and ensuring public safety.
Communication: Use your FRS/GMRS radios to maintain clear, timely communication with the event coordination team.
We're incredibly grateful for your willingness to volunteer your time and expertise to make these events a success.
The Kingman Chamber of Commerce will provide vests and instructions. Please come appropriately prepared for the weather, and bring water, your HT, and a flashlight if you plan to be there after dark. We will be operating on FRS/GMRS Channel 7, so anyone with an appropriate radio can participate, and no license is needed under FRS power limits.
For those who can lend a hand, please sign up for your preferred shifts using the link below. This system helps us keep the team organized and ensures we have adequate coverage throughout the evening.
